  1. Yo,

    I dont know if im posting this in the right forum, but im hoping it is to get help with the problem as soon as possible. Ive just made VCD Compliant MPEG-1 Movie with TMPGEnc using the default VCD Template. Now I burned this MPEG-1 movie with Nero Burning Rom. Although before I burned it I watched the movie beforehand to make sure there were no video errors or if the movie moved out of sync in any place. To continue on, I burned it with Nero and got no errors with it being non compliant or anything. But when I finally burned it and watched it on my stand alone DVD player, the video from time to time will bricks pop up here and there and from time to time the colors may change from time to time. Also just to throw this out, im on WindowsXP when I do this type of encoding/burning. When im on my Windows 98 machine, nothing like this ever happens to the video. Could anyone help me out with this?

    using the default VCD Template
    Did you load a VCD template ? there are 2 one for PAL and one for NTSC

    Also in TMPGEnc
    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
    right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

  3. Oops, I ment to put i was using the default NTSC VCD Template, not the NTSC Film or PAL Template.

    Also, with the direct show filter, it is set directly at 4 and i still get crappy output of the video on my DVD player

  4. What speed are you burning in Nero. Lower it to 8X at the most.. I sometimes burn at 4X and get no problems at all, even with very cheap cdr's!

    Ok, well one other thing comes to mind is the SMR (Angel Portion) codec, if you have it installed get rid of it. There are times when other codec's are used to decompress, when the right one will improve things.

    Apart from good quality disks, there is not going to be much you can do, if the quality of the original is rubbish, your going to need a good DVD player to cope with the artifacts

    (I dont know if im doing the quote thingy right) Would Nimo's Codec Pack have the Angel Potion Codec in it for its DiVX playback files? Besides the WMP Codec pack from Microsoft thats the other package of files that I use

    No Nimo does not have the SMR, it recomends you un-install any codec's you have (Not the MS default) before you install it, But I never do, just install over the top...

    Any basic codec's would be replaced by better ones.
