  1. Hey there...

Ive read just about everything on this topic so far (I think). I have a Panasonic RP-56 (among others) player and been trying to use SVCDs by converting the headers. Ive tried many ways and the closest I get is with TMPGEnc by de-muxing the mpg, then re-muxing it as an mpeg2 vbr then again as a video cd. I tried burning with nero and vcdeasy. With this method I get perfect audio but the video has green breakup stuff at the top and a little less breakup at the bottom. It also is very slightly stuttering. By the way the only file ive tried with so far is the one with a spider and a man. I dont know if this one is more difficult than others. During each stage it plays fine on the computer so im not sure if its a conversion problem or a burning problem. Right before burning the result of everything else creates a file with a 480x576 res.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. That particular spider & man title gave me trouble also. My trouble was with sync though.

You might try re-encoding in TMPGEnc to a lower bitrate (maybe 2200 or even lower) and see if your player will do a better job with it. This shouldn't affect the quality a great deal.

I'm not familiar with your player model. I've been using an Apex 5131 so I don't have to change the headers. I also have a Apex 600a which chokes a bit if I up the bitrate too much.
