Phew, lol, you've made me happy
Ohh well another 2h 58mins to go....
does 4 hours sound about right for a 1.6ghz p4, 385mb? Into mpeg1 that is. -
depends on the source. If it is divx (a good divx) and you set different flags, etc. to get it to VCD, that could be correct. I have a 1.2 and if I do a full divx (650 meg), high motion search and other stuff, it takes around 5-7 hours.
Let me know if your divx doesnt have audio sync problems when you are finished. It seems that I am not able (I've used this guide and a lot of others from this and other sites) and I still have sync problems. -
Yeah il tell you when its done, lol, another 5-6 hours from now =(
Yeah i burn 700mb divx files and takes about 3h 50mins - 4h.
Fingers crossed it works -
Whats high motion search and other stuff,
Btw u said 6-7 hours for a FULL DivX file, mine takes 4 hours for HALF a DivX film!
And my cpu's 1.6ghz! -
There is a gide on www.divx-digest.com that discusses that way better than I could (pictures and instructions). Under, I believe, the advance,
tab there is a section for motion control where you can set that. depending on your selection, you may get blurs during motion scenes. I, personally, set mine to highest. People will say that high is plenty fine and highest is a waste of time, but I figure what the hell, I am encoding it before I go to bed and if it finishes up early (4am vs. 6am), I'm still asleep.
There is a whole world of filters and other stuff awaiting you in TMPGENC. You can do a lot of things with it. Your 700 meg file could be smaller if you did 2 pass vbr (but there are certain rules). Read the guides as it will give you a lot more info that I could.
