I have a Dazzle Hollywood Bridge. I use (or used to use) Pinnacle Studio SE 7 to capture from my Samsung World Wide video player or my Go-Video dual deck VCR. Everything was going super until two days ago...
My computer was set up for optimum performance following Dazzle.com's suggestions - DMA was set, everything closed, no other USB stuff plugged in. I did not add any new hardware or software.
I could capture from the VHS tapes without a hitch.
Then, I started having massive frame drops. I tried 5 different tapes (old and brand new) and had the same problem. Then for some stupid reason I thought - hey, let's test the data rate! - Pinnacle Studio supposedly automatically does this each time you attempt capture and I had no problems -- anyway, so I let it do the test - NOW it says my data rate is too low!!!! AND I CANNOT CAPTURE ANYTHING!
There is no BIOS update, so I cannot flash my BIOS. What can I do to increase the rate??!?? -- I have stopped the write cache for the HD, the energy saver is set to 'never', I have defragged and scanned the disk...still no luck!!!
I do not understand why all of a sudden I do not have a fast enough data rate. It is supposed to be 4000 but mine is between 3000 and 3800 at any given time. I think before the test it was some riduclouly high number - more than enough. According to TaskManager, My CPU usage never goes above 10%.
HELP!!!
Thanks in advance.
