  1. I finaly burned one, but the quality was really poor. It looked extreamly pixi. I took a 1 min test AVI, converted into Meg1, then burned in nero. I used a program called avi2vcd. I did download a program that everyone seems to recomend called TMPGE. What is the best way to get the best quality. I am looking for a VCR quality, no biggie. Its family film. Or, is a SVCD compatable as a VCD to a Sony DVP560D? I seem I cant find the Speces for it. If this is possible to play on my set, then can someone help me as far as 'How' I go about conversion.
But as far as the possiblity of improving the quality of a VCD, this is my main question and I would be satisfied with any answers.

    Thanks Much

AVI2VCD is the worst program I have ever used.

I abosulty recomind you use TMPG. It is the most powerful freeware encoder.

  3. Are you saying that this could be my problem? Is the TMPG that much better?

    Thanks!

Tmpgenc is the best that I have used, I use the 2-pass Vbr setting on NTSC and burn as svcd. This has produced the best results on my system. 400mhz pentium II. It takes a while, so be patient.

Did you test silver layer CD-R, because this is the brand tested by users as informed on "DVD Players" for your model (Sony DVP560D).
