  1. Has anyone here encoded an mpeg2 using Hauppage Wintv PVR and authored with ULEAD DVD WORKSHOP?

I'm about ready to throw my whole f-ing system out the window. I've been trying for ages, and made god knows how many coasters, but still the stupid sound ISN'T IN SYNC.

    Here's my setup:

    P4 2.2 ghz windows XP
    120 gb HD
    512 megs ram
    Hauppage WIN TV PVR250
    WinTV 2000
    Ulead DVD Workshop 1.2

All of my Mpegs are perfect after being recorded. Sound is excellent, etc. However, once I put them through DWS, the audio is out of sync.
Yes I'm using the "do not re-encode" option.

Here are my settings in WinTV:

    VIDEO
    output stream: Program
rate details: VBR 5000, peak 6200
    resolution: 720x480

    AUDIO
    input: stereo
    encode: Mpeg1 layer 2
    smapling rate: 48khz
    audio bitrate: 224

My settings in ULEAD when I click the make disc button...

    under general,
    standard 720x480

    under compression
    Video data rate: Variable 5000kbs
    Mpeg audio
    audio bitrate 224

Can anyone tell me what is wrong here......if not, I'll just sell the whole damn thing. I've had it.

Just a thought, but how long before your videos go out of sync with the audio? Is it immediately, or does it take a while? I use the WinTV FM to capture, encode with TMPGE, and author with SpruceUp. I can only capture an hour of video at a time, or else the audio will go out of sync. But as long as I keep the captures under 1 hour, everything works fine.

  4. But, if the mpeg2 files play perfectly under windows, it doesn't seem to me that it's an encoding problem. Doesn't that make sense?

It seems like it HAS to be in the ULEAD software that the delay is occuring.
