  1. I habe a .avi and want to convert it to MPG. With gspot I can see, that it's coded with "FourCC DIV2" (Microsoft MPEG-4 v1/v2) and it says "Codec is NOT installed". If I want to open the movie in Virtual Dub or TMPG, it says "unsupported file format or unreadable" or something like that...

But how is it possible that I can watch the movie with WMP?

I also tried to change the FourCC to DIV3, but if I do, I either have no video or just a green screen...

    Thanks for helping!!

  2. Well, it's very unusual avi. Try to rename it to .asf and open with VDub 1.3 or VDub 1.4asf.

FourCC is Four-Character Codes were introduced by Microsoft
to clearly identify video data stream formats. all (should) divx streams should have this code .. you can even change it also ..

anyway what its saying is that you need this codec Microsoft MPEG-4 V1/2/3 VKI Codec
