  2. How to Copy a VCD

Your questions can be answered by reading the guides found under How to author and burn a MPEG to a compliant VCD/XVCD in their entirety. Below are some quick and dirty instructions to copy an existing VCD.

Install VCDEasy 1.1.1 then go to:

    VCDEasy 1.1.1 | Tools | (S)VCD Build/Rip | VCDxRip

Choose the location of the disc you want to rip by choosing:

    o CD Reader | o CD Writer | o CD Image File

Make sure you have enough disc space in the drive location you choose, then click Rip.

You can also use VCDGearGUI to convert DAT files on VCD to MPEG-1 on your hard drive.

[EDIT: Since you asked how to get your VCD on your hard drive (presumably for editing or recompilation), I gave these methods. If you want to make a copy of your VCD on another disc, follow the posts below.]

  3. Or you can use CloneCD to make an image to your HD,
then burn the image to an CD-R with the same program

  4. The easiest way is to load up your favourite CD burner proggy and click on the "Copy CD" function.

For those that like more control on what they are doing, CloneCD is great for copying CDs of all sorts.
