I have actually gone mental and phyiscally threw and stood on / smashed a number precious DVD medias, bcos of the damn sync problem. Here is what i do...
Load the AVI (DivX) file into TMPG with the PAL DVD template and then change the screen to 'Full Screen - Keep Aspect ratio', then start encoding.
- As you know this can take upto 5 fricken hours so i get really annoyed when i come out with a duff DVD.
Then i use Ulead Movie Maker and Author Menus to suit the disc every 15mins of the film. (this also takes about 1 - 2 Hrs)
Then after that use the Built in DVD recorder to write the file to the media.
Put it in my DVD player ( standalone ) then fast forward it to get to some speech, at that point i have gone mental again....
Ive also tried the audio extraction with VDub - no joy
All i know is that the DivX movie is in Sync, the MPEG2 is sometimes in sync, but no DVD is in sync!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HELP BEFORE MY EXPENSIVE DVDR GOES OUT THE WINDOW!!!
Following that >>
1 ) Try frameserving the file from virtualdub to TMPG, maybe that works!
Q) How?
2) You're sure the framerate of the divx is 25 fps?
?) 23.933 or sommet
3) After conversion with TMPG to DVD is the audio still in sync?
A) Sometimes in sync as MPEG2 but when i burn its not! I have yet to do a DVD Movie
4) When burning (with NERO) check you've choosen PAL template in buring program.
A) I use Ulead Movie maker cos Nero doesnt accept iso's from the software i use, maybe u could tell me
Thanx I will try but dont hold me responsible for all the DVD's i smash

Hi,
I think i have the solution to your problem. You're movie )(divx) has a framerate of 23,976 that is NTSC Film! therefore you should use the
NTSC film template in TMPGEnc. Forget the frameserving for now.
Youre movie is NTSC, and most NTSC based DVD's will play fine on
all stand alone DVD players.
Try conversion to DVD file first, and check (with PowerDVD or so) if
the audio is still in sync. if so, skip inserting chapters and burn with latest
Nero (NTSC template) to DVD.
Good luck,
Borgster. -
1) Is there no way to change it to PAL?
2) Is a NTSC divx between 23fps and 26fps? and wot fps is PAL?
...part from that just downloaded Predator DivX which is PAL i think 23.97 60fps (near as dammit 24fps) did a converstion to MPEG2 usin TMPGEnc didnt use VDub and set it to PAL template in TMPGEnc.
Used Power DVD to check the file for sync...
Absolutly PERFECTO!!
But i tried this a few days ago, and this is the cause of me goin mental, i authored the menu's usin Ulead Movie thingy, then burnt it, played it and it was out of sync, EVEN THOU THE PRE-BURNT MPEG2 was FINE!
Its burnin at the mo with the new 1.2 patch thanx to Chris, Cheers, so hopefully it will werk if not... Anyone wanna buy my DVDRW
THANX ALOT BORGMAN -
Depending upon what kind of DVD player you have, you might not need to convert to PAL.
My cheapie GE DVD plays everything and anything I throw at it."Today is only yesterdays tomorrow"
