  1. hello,

basically what i need to know is if i can play a movie i download off IRC in my DVD player??

my player can play almost anything so i thought maybe i can download movies and watch them...i checked out the FAQ and it says if i convert the .DAT file to an .MPEG i can watch it on my DVD player...now do i need a DVD burner and burn the mpeg on a DVD or can i burn the mpeg on a CD with a CD burner and watch it on my DVD player? (i dont have a DVD burner BTW)

so far i got VCDgear and can convert the BIN/CUE file to an .MPEG file, is that what i burn or can i burn the BIN and CUE file to a CD and play it?

sorry if these are stupid questions but thanks for your help!

  2. since noone helped yet i did a little more looking...

all i need to know is what format should the movie be in if i downloaded it off the internet and want to play it on my DVD player??

right now i have a BIN file which i mounted with DTools and theres a few folders, CDI, EXT, Mpegav, segement and VCD

EXT folder has LOT_X.VCD and PSD_X.VCD
    VCD folder has entries.vcd, info.vcd, lot.vcd and psd.vcd
and the mpegav folder has a avseq1.DAT file

now do i need to convert that avseq1.DAT file to an mpeg and burn to a CD?

if so whats the best program to convert it to retain quality?

please answer a question if you can! any help is much apprieciated

  3. Since your dvd player can play almost anything, and since the file you've downloaded is in bin/cue format, I would guess that it's either a VCD or SVCD.

So, since your dvd player can play almost anything, burn the bin/cue with cdrwin on a cdr and stick it in your machine.

    ta da.
