  1. I just got DivX Pro 5.0.2. I was browsing around, and I found Decoder Properties. It has many settings, *ASIDE FROM THE CONFIGURATION*, such as:

Quality Level (Min - Max), Film Effect (Min - Max), Smooth Playback, Yuv Extended Mode, Overlay Extended Mode, Double Buffering, and Picture Properties (Brightness, Contrast, Saturation). If you enable Overlay Extended Mode, you can choose an aspect ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, Maintain Original).

Now, I'm ripping a DVD to DivX. I'm wondering if any of these settings would enhance the quality of the output DivX. Or are these settins strictly for playback?

And then I went to the configurations. There are MANY MANY settings to browse through. I went to the guide. But all it does is explain what each thing is, which is still very complicated. I'm hoping someone is out there that knows the *BEST* settings for optimal performance.

Please, if anyone can help me figure out what these are. And if these are, in fact, settings for DVD to DivX ripping, then what are the *BEST* settings to apply?

    Thanks in advance.
