  1. What do you think about this new DVD player from RCA? It seems quite curious that no one has reviewed this player yet...

  2. hi i was just browsing and saw the post. i bought this player last week and it plays vcd xvcd pretty well. only thing i have noticed is it tends to pause for about a half second every now and then.
if anyone has this player and has any recommendations of what cdr works best please let me know.

it may just be me but it seems the disks play better **less pausing** if i put a lable sticker on the disk.

anyone else own this player please let me know your success! thanks

Just a guess but I think this model is similar to the RCA 5240P player. I was looking through the sears catalog today and I saw this. They don't have the 5240P anymore but they have this model. The price is nearly identical and feature for feature is identical to the 5240P. Except for two things:It has 2 new features 1)dialog normalization 2)"virtual surround sound". If it is similar to the 5240P I say get it. The 5240P is an excellent player and this model looks cooler.

  4. yes indeed the longer i have it the more i love it. i even like the auto shut off. if it is not used in 30 min it shuts off

like i said the vcd xvcd playback is nothing to sneeze at. although the occastional pause is irritating .. very easy to live with. and quality is great for the price.
