  1. Hi i want to convert a AVI to mpeg
now simple as that sounds, when i convert it with TMPGenc it mutates the video so that its in a different resolution
The AVI is at a weird resolution but I want to keep it at that because otherwise it will be out perspective/ratio/whatever.

I have two AVI's of different size.. don't mind which one i convert aslong as i can get one of them to mpeg at the same size..
    408*228
    and
    444*248

    any help/ideas?

If you explain why you need to convert an avi to an mpeg, we might be able to help. 8)

  3. Most likely you are using "4:3 Display" and "Full screen (keep aspect ratio)" as your source aspect ratio in Setting.

I can't quite remember what you should be using, but give "FS (kar)2" a try instead. Just fiddle with each of the settings until you find that the image in the encoding window has black bars top/bottom, and make sure that the image isn't still stretched too far either horizontally or vertically - just as long everyone doesn't look too fat or thin.

If you need anymore help, give us a buzz.

Advanced tab: source aspect ratio 1:1 VGA, video arrange method "center(custom size) 336x174 (I assume both files do not have any borders)
    System tab: VCD
Video Tab: MPEG-1, Aspect ratio 4:3, frame size: 352x240
    Calculated by FitCD.
