  1. How do I schedule recordings with Digital VCR in ATI's MMC 7.6?

I see no option for it in the schedule tab.

  2. Use the Guide+, it has a record feature, kinda like the VCRplus on some VCRs.

It hasn't changed a whole lot. Go to the Digital VCR tab and click on 'CREATE NEW'..... Its alot more flexible than using Gluide+.

Although...you could use Gluide+ to setup the original recording. Then, going into MMC/Digital VCR and edit it to change the start time, length or any other attributes you may have.

You should be just fine with just minor playing around.
    Have a good one,

  4. Go to schedule, create new, select Digital VCR from the dropdown list. set time, duration, record settings, make sure and edit all settings and select the connector type, it defaults to cable rather than s-video or composite. Remember to allow some extra time for startup, 20 seconds or so.

  6. devnulllore, you didn't mention it, but which video card (and capture card, if it is a separate card) do you have?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  7. I have the ATI TV-WONDER PCI card.

I reinstalled MMC7.6 and I now have Digital VCR as an option.

  8. Very good, that was my next suggestion, to repair or reinstall (but you beat me to it).

  9. Another problem.

I recorded a 1 hour program and near the end it starts to skip and the audio sounds slow. All the voices are very deep.

    Any ideas?

I have the ATI AIW Radeon and even with 7.6 it sucks as a PVR.

    Software encoding in general sucks.
    Skipped frames,
    Frozen picture,
    Etc.

I'm hoping the new Hauppage 350 won't suck.
    Wish me luck.

  11. I would have agreed that ATI AIW 7500 would bite as a PVR with 7.6. I recently upgraded to 7.7 and man does it rock. There are no new features but they seem to have lost one - the crashing feature is missing.

As for the topic's question, start your TV App, right click on it, click Setup and you'll see digital VCR.

As for the other question about sound skipping, try upgrading first. If that doesn't do it, try only capturing IFrames (you have to click Custom for the recording type, Advanced settings and start modifying.) The nice part about modifying the settings for a capture specification is that the software makes a copy of what the setting is and saves it as a user specified version - very handy.

  12. Where can I download MMC 7.7? And does it support the TV-WONDER PCI?

  13. Ouch... Good question. I got mine from ATI's website but like I said in my post, I have an AinW 7500. I'm not sure if they released a version for your card or not... if nothing else, try ATI's website ati.com

  14. I found it. It is available for download on their site. Unfortunately the TV-WONDER is one of the cards they say NOT to use it for.....
