  1. Hi guys,

This is probably an obvious answer but I'm a newbie so I don't know.

Is there anyway of saving your capture settings in Virtual Dub cause I'm getting kinda annoyed of having to set them up constantly.

In the capture screen use the drop down menus and go to Capture-Preferences. In there you just check all the boxes and your settings will be saved the next time you exit virtualdub.

  3. Sorry to spoil the party folks, but I've been attempting to use Capture->Preferences to store all my settings (including Compression) but it fails to keep everything that I've tweaked time and time again.

Mainly, the Compression setting (HuffYUV usually) as well as my all-time-favourite Noise Reduction settings are never ever set in stone whenever I exit VirtualDub. Maybe the programmer might finally address this oversight. I acknowledge that SOME settings are retained (like the Format 352x2..) but it's not enough. I feel that the interface does need a big update and cleanup to access the features a bit more readily, but no doubt that'll confuse me since I've just gotten used to them as they are now .

If only we had some of the features of DScaler (like tuning out the Macrovision signal) with VirtualDub's handy recording features and we'd have a killer app on our hands.

    Peace.

  4. Thanks Caish5,

I knew it was probably simple to store the settings...just didn't know how Thanks anyways.

I'm unable to store the selected compression codec but I'm not too bothered about that...only one thing I need to change whenever I start Virtual Dub so it's no biggy to me.

    Thanks again.
