  1. I recently downloaded a movie, in .avi format, but when I went to convert it to mpeg using LSX-MPEG Encoder it came up with the following error:

Audio Stream has unsupported format or compression type

This program supports only PCM audio format with sample rates 11025, 22050, 44100, 48000 Hz

    then it says

Encoder failed to decompress AVI video stream.

Possible Reason: Can not find appropriate video codec. AVI file may be corrupted or use unsupported video compression format.

    Please select valid AVI file.

Is there any way to fix this? Help much appreciated

  2. extract the wav from the avi with virtua dub, then run it thru dvd2avi's wav processing feature making sure you have set it to '48>44.1khz - ultra high' in the options tab,
the resulting wav should be fully compatable, can't guarentee that it will be fine for LSX as i only use tmpegenc. LSX always used to lock up for me
but tmpegenc will throw the same error about PCM wav's if they aren't correct so i'm guessing that it's the same

  3. Is tempegenc better to use for these kind of things?

  7. sorry I need one last bit of help, I burned the image onto cdr using Nero, but it doesn't seem to have placed anything onto the disc as my DVD and PC can't pick up anything on it.

I'm using a Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-308B, does anyone know how to solve that?

  8. did you burn it as a vcd or svcd in nero? you need to do that for your dvd player to read it
however if you can't see it on your pc then i guess it's a bad burn
could you watch the mpeg b4 you burnt it?

  9. I burned it as VCD in Nero and it comes up on the CDR as being an img file on the cd, is that the right file type? or what do i need to do to get the right type?

The MPEG was viewable and hearable on my pc

  10. there should be 4 folders burnt on the disc (can't remember names off hand for vcd) 1 of the folders should have a very large .dat file in it if it's a vcd or a .mpeg file if its svcd . they are the actual movie files.
if it's not got that one the disc then my guess is nero didn't burn it correctly
best bet is to try again in nero or try another program to burn it, but i'm not what else does it as i only use nero for my vcd/svcd's
