dvd pal-ntsc conversion question

i have an apex 1200. i can select regions thru the hidden menu. what i am wondering is if i try to play a PAL dvd in my player, will the player convert the signal to ntsc format. what i mean is, will it play ok, in color, on my ntsc tv?

what exactly will it do then. how will the picture look i mean. if it doesn't play well, what's the point?

The picture wont come in. The picture will just keep rolling. Just convert it to NTSC....

how do i do that? you mean convert the dvd to ntsc vcds or something? or is there a better/easier way.

well i would convert it to 24fps progressive and do pulldown on playback .

According to this the 1200 will convert NTSC to PAL and visa-versa with a simple remote control hack. I do not have this player so I cannot personally verify whether or not it works.
