  1. I have a small section of video from a DVD that I would like to add to my home video using Ulead DVD Picture show. I ripped the whole movie with DVD2SVCD (smartripper) and have an MPEG2 file. I cut out the section I wanted with TMPGenc tools but ULEAD will not read. I really want an AVI file which will allow me to add the section to my video and record back to my miniDV camera. Any ideas or step by step would be appreciated.

  3. Thanks - that was useful information. However, when I tried to load the MPEG2 file it was not recognized - even the one that I edited with TMPGenc tools. It recognized the .d2v (DVD2SVCD project file) but had an error after a few minutes. How do I get a useable MPEG file off of the DVD? I guess I could go to an MPEG editor but I hate to buy any more software if I don't need it. Any ideas?
    Thanks again

  4. Finally got it to work! He're what I did if anybodys interested.
I downloaded the TMPGenc MPEG2 plugin and executed it. I didn't put it in the TMPG directory and couldn't read Japanize but it seemed to work since I could read the MPEG2 file in TMPG. Then I saved to an AVI file as suggested. This worked but no audio. I de-muxed the MPEG2 file and added the .mp2 as the audio source and this worked. A lot of trouble just to get a short sequence and there may be a better way, but thats it.
    Thanks
