Ok, here's my problem... i can rip from dvd with cladXP no problem, frame serve and create the .avi Then encode to dvd mpeg2 with tmpgenc. I get a 4gig file and want to author to dvd-r media... but I can not burn with nero (it only likes the .vobs) so if tmpgenc can create this great mpeg2 file what do I use to author it to dvd-r??? again nero wont work, vcd easy only does vcd's and (s)vcds, and sonic (my dvd) takes the 4gig file and makes it like 8gigs!! I figure the mpeg2 route is easier then the .vobs to the video_ts since most movies end up being more than 4.5 gigs anyway... any words from the wise??
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Gee, Dan,
Why don't you try authoring your work? NERO is just a burning program... It won't do the authoring for you.
(This HAS to be done if you are trying to create a DVD-Video) -
Well,
I was under the impression the term "author" and "burn" are the same thing. I have already created my dvd-video file (mpeg2) in this case nero does not burn this file type to dvd-r media. tmpgenc will encode this file of this type, but which burning/authoring software out there accepts it? sonic will take it but it doesn't use compressed audio so the mpeg or even .avi for that matter end up too big to be burned to a 4.7gig dvd-r. and most of my dvd's that i rip, the .vobs end up too big to fit onto a dvd. anyway. So I figured why not rip, frameserve to .avi then encode to dvd mpeg2 like tmpgenc is capable of?? any suggestions?
