  1. OK guys anyone who can help me it would be greatly....greatly appreciated...I have a Sony DVP-S560D DVD player, I purchased it Christmas of 2000 when I was employed at Best Buy, it was a great DVD player and still is except for the fact that it came out a year before the market started putting out DVD players that could play burned CD's...My problem is..I started getting movies and TV shows off of Mirc and I love it but I wanna watch it on my DVD player...I burned the CD's in VCD format with Nero and I realize my DVD player won't support it since it won't play CDR's but after coming to the site and seeing that it might be possible I decided to put this message up and if anyone knows a way that I can get my player to recognize CDR's without having to junk it and spend 300 bucks for a new one it would save me a lot of time and money ( that I don't have...the money that is) Please anyone who can help reply back....Thank you in advance.....

  2. I guess I might wanna add that I really ahve done no encoding of the files....the files I tested out were Dragonball Z Episodes which are about 20 min episodes roughly and 200 MB each (great quality) DVD Rips..I did no encoding becuase I'm not to good with learning all this yet...I just had the files used Nero to burn to a CD under the VCD format on Memorex 700/80min CD-R's and tried it out...if you need anymore info to help me let me know.....

The Sony is very very picky which CD brands it will accept when playing VCD's. I have had consistent success with cheap DigitalMedia CD-RW's, but you should look under DVD PLAYERS to see what media others have had success with. Your Sony can even be "fooled" into playing SVCD's if they are burned in VCD format.
