No sound with certain programs

I cant seem to get sound when capturing with virtual dub. I tried all the things that it said in the tutorials and still nothing works. When i capture with WinDVR it works fine. I also tried virtual vcr and that doesnt give me sound either. I have a ati tv wonder VE. The other thing is, when im in virtual dub, there is a little bit a sound but i can hardly hear it, even with all the volume settings at max. Any ideas?

never mind, i fixed my own problem, just had to reinstall the card
