  1. Don't Worry, I'm not pirating here. I Just finished making project though that had a hugely complicated menu structure. The VCD works perfect, but now I want to make a few more. Problem is that I already trashed the mpeg files on my HD and the videopack files. Can I just do an on the fly copy of my VCD with Nero 5.5? I tried it and it automatically burned in data mode 2+. I'm guessing that meant that it burned multitrack in order to adhere to the whitebook (VCD) standards of the original disc. Am I right in my thinking? The copy worked perfectly in the computer, but haven't been able to try it in a dvd player yet. (Mine broke and I'm Broke) Does any one else know much about straight forward copying of VCD's without having to encode, write my file system, and menus all over again?

  2. The best way of copying a VCD is like copying any other CD -- a straight DAO copy.

I believe that Nero does this fine.

CloneCD, IMHO, is a much better CD copying program though. For example, when copying VCDs, it will also correctly copy the subindices (usually not important for playback but good nonetheless).

    Regards.
