    I have an avi file that is missing the video but still has the audio, is there anything I can do to repair it so I have video?

    You re not missing the video. Most likely you are missing the proper codecs to play your video, so you get a black screen when it plays.

    Try downloading and installing the Nimo codec pack for instance, that should help.
