Keep trying. As for CDRAO crashing you can select to only create a Cue/Bin file that has the entry points and then burn with the other program. Yes, the menu creation is a little hard to understand. I had a guide that I wrote for this somewhere, sent it to Baldrick, but never made it up on the site. Menus are explained in the Author section over to the left, but mine was written a little simpler. I will try to find it and put it in this thread.

It's been a while back. I can send it again if you would like, I did find it finally. It deals only with making menus, not entry points with it. I will send it in the body of an email.

    sullen,

my appoligies for not responding here sooner. Lastnight, i lost my connect
and just gave up, cause I was very bushed from the days work - it was
    pretty stressful yesterday (7.29.02)

anyways, I spent this evening (at work) D/L'ing guides and instructions
on VCDEasy menu creation and what-nots. My binder is a good 2" thick.
I'll give it a good reading or two. It also covers some XML coding
and stuff, but it's a good binder I made up for Menu creation.

My goal is hopefully to be able to create similar menus and entry
    point as in DVDs.

I'm kind of tired at the moment, and just got up from a nap - - work is
    that bad (busy) Anyways...

I've ben refining my OWN personal template based for vCVD and vDVD
another reason for not responding. Anyways, I've just ben over to
your revised guide (by you) here:
Simple Menu using VCDEasy Guide 1.1 by Sullen and of course,
I'll give it a looksees And, thank you for going out of your way ta help me and others here
    w/ menus.

One thing about menus, in my tiny experience with it so far, is that... question?
    * Will it support CVD and DVD 720x480 resolutions?? I know, it's
a DUMB question, but my 1st experience confused me, and I ended up [] unchecking
the box for "MPEG compliance", else I got a weird error message when I dragged in
an *.mpg clip, which by the way, was 720x480 resolution.

  5. Still menus for a S/VCD are at 704x480/576.

Menus that use video clips for the background are limited to the ordinary MPEG limitations for S/VCDs (e.g., 352x240/288 and 480x480/576 ) if you want a compliant disc.

If you are making an X/S/VCD of any description, then if your player can handle those higher resolution clips in playback, then so can the menu.

    Regards.

Vitualis is exactly right. The menu is just basicly a short MPEG clip that has the remote control numbers associated with it. If your player can handle the vCVD or vDVD then a menu in the same format is good. VCDEasy only handles compliant streams, also as Vitualis mentioned. It will burn uncompliant streams, but I always advise testing with CDRW first. VCDEasy was made for VCD and SVCD that are standard, since SVCD is 480x480 is standard size it doesn't want to accept the 720x480 unless you over-ride the compliance check. Nero is the same way when it comes to burning say 352x480 CVD.

While using it and learning, try to figure out how to do these two things which I have yet to sit down and figure out:

How to make a VCD or SVCD that can have two menus
    and
How I can make all of the clips play back to back without having to put them on the disk twice: individually and then again altogether inorder.

These two things I do miss about EZ CD 4. You can build VCDs with more than one menu page and also set it up so that the clips can be played one at a time going back to the menu after each clip ends or playing all of the clips back to back without having to burn them on the disk twice.

    Have fun.
