I had a Sony TRV27 miniDVcam and I'm trying to pass through from my DVD to the PC but I receive a copyright notice in the camera display. The manual says "you cannot record or capture the video output ...that include copyright protection signals such as the ID-2 system". There is anyway to Hack this ?

You don't need a hack. If you are using the passthrough correctly (i.e. not recording onto tape but sending the signal directly to the computer through a firewire cable), most capturing software will not detect this ID-2 protection. The only software that I know that detects this protection is the Sony provided software.
If you have no other capturing software, you can use DVIO or amcap (freeware programs) which do not detect ID-2. -
The copyright notice came from the camcorder and not from the software, so i guess the protection is before it arrive to the software. I don't know... I can try that app. to see what happen. Thanks

I forgot to mention, make sure that "DV out" is enabled on your miniDV camcorder (select it from your camcorder's menu).
