  1. I have ripped a few DVD's before, butI've neverran into this problem before. I would like to create a VCD or SVCD as I usually do (using SmartRipper, DVD2AVI, and TMPGenc), But I would also like to rip the English subtitles and leave the original Japanese audio intact. I don't careaboutthem being "hard-coded" into the video, as I don't speak Japanese anyways.

  2. The EASIEST and (IMHO BEST) way of making hard-encoded subtitled VCDs, is to use FlaskMPEG (v0.6 subtitled fixed version) and Panasonic MPEG encoder.

You could frameserve to TMPGEnc if you really wanted to.

You should rip with DVD Decrypter and rip the entire disc (including the IFO files).

With FlaskMPEG, load the relevant IFO file and select the video stream, audio stream and subtitle stream you want.

You can preview to make sure that it is the right subtitle stream.

    Then encode.

    Regards.
