  1. I just got a pioneer a-104 writer and I cant get the damn thing to burn a single dvd. I just went out to the store and bought some digital media
dvd-r's for $5 each and I just made 3 coasters. I tried burning in Nero and Primo DVD and the only thing I make is very expensive coasters. Whenever I try to burn a dvd-r it gives me an error message right at the start of the burn and the dvd gets screwed up and is no longer usable. COuld the media be the problem or is it something else?

Maybe an expert can help you but what worked for me is to use DVD MovieFactory and create an image. Then, go back and burn the image using the same program.

I know the costly coaster routine myself... lol

I use SpruceUp v1.0 (get at tucows.com) to create an image file, then ignore that image, goto the working folder for SpruceUp and grab the VIDEO_ts folder and burn that with NERO under DVD-video. Seems to work well for me... If you do grab SpruceUp, and want more "info" on it, e-mail me..

i just got a dvr-104 and i am in love.

I encode MPEG2 with TMPEGENC, then author with Ulead DVD factory.

Never have had a problem. I use the Verbatim DVD-RW and the Apple DVD-R.

Try Ulead, I couldn't believe how easy it was!

  7. I spent the $10 for a DVD-RW disk. I check my burn on that before I burn to DVD-R. Time consuming, but I'm cheap.

    are you using nero?

    I've seen this problem before.

    Try stomp or prassi.

Nero sucks more with each release. (IMHO)
