  2. Yes but not with CCE. I have CDR-PC5 and use TMPGenc a+ and it does MPEG2 pretty well.

Yes, I have but I have finally given up using CCE since it is virtually impossible (at least for me) to get a decent result. TMPGenc yields a muck better result for DV footage at least with the SVCD bitrates.

TMPEGenc is alot slower than CCE ....

Anyone get good results with CCE ?????

I agree on the speed thing and I guess that this is the reason for most people trying the CCE encoder at least that was why I tried it. I think that if you do a search on this and similar forums you will find that most people have considerable difficulties in achieving good with CCE at such low bitrates. Myself I prefer quality and at least until I'll be able to convert to DVD playable on my stand alone I'll stick with TMPGenc.

  6. Speed is not an issue for me, I run 2x933MHz and its ok. However quality is an issue. I use TMPGenc 12f 0.11.24.108
and I am NOT pleased. My problem is that I can see MPEG artification some times (not all the time) - still not a good sign.

Any recommendations out there for better quality encoder? Or may be I am doing it wrong so I would appreciate if someone posts their best quality TMPG settings! THANKS

bbiandov - I use TMPG 12a and get better MPG2 results than the later versions.

I tried CCE but couldn't get results as good as TMPG 12a. Sure, it's faster, but what's the point if the results aren't good? I did try a lot of configs and templates some other people sent me but still couldn't get a better quality output.
