I have a Sony DVP-NS700 and have burn several VCDs but the resolution (352x240) makes the picture VERY grainy to look at while watching. I tried burning a higher resolution but the player would play it correctly. How do I know what format (SVCD vs. VCD) and what resolution is best for my player?

It's best to stick with the standards if you wanna be sure but what I do is I create a bunch of short clips using different resolutions and bitrates and such and test them on my player and see which one gives the best quality vs. filesize...
