  1. I've been reading all over this site.. the compatibility pages, running a search in the forums, and I've been finding rather contradicting information..

what I need to know is, are there any brands of DVD-R disks you guys have tried on an unmodified XBOX that work?

    what about DVD-RW?

basically, I have a Pioneer A04 and need to play video on a DVD but dont know what brand, all I do know is Apple disks wont work..

    much tahnks

  6. DVD-r do work with XBOX if you have it MOD... Heck... it even plays HALO with CDR's (4 CD)... you can even play Divx movies to how.

I can't tell you anything else, but to goto news.com and do a EZ search...

  8. ok.... i burnt a movie on a pioneer dvd-rw and a verbatim dvd-r..... AND NONE OF THEM WORK ON MY XBOX (or my bose system but thats another post that i have to let my anger out on!!!!!)...... I AM HIGHLY PISSED ..... but the verbatim did play on my ps2 with no problem..... it has to be a brand that will play on my xbox w/o a mod chip..... i cant see (or fully understand) y it wont work or y they wouldnt build the feature in the dam thing..... and how can a mod chip make it play it wit no problem

PS::: I HEARD ON ANOTHER SITE THAT U MIGHT CAN USE -- " Optodisc media " BUT I CANT FIND IT.... so if anyone here tries it let me no

I am expecting a newly developed chip called X-ecuter sedning to me next week. With new chip and evolution X software as well as up coming Xboxmedia player software, you can play most media CD,DVD-R,DVD-RW along with Dvix,mp3,Mpeg2,VCD as well as playing movie from Xbox harddrive. read more information here. I am so excited.

  11. So far with how the XBOX is setup its got a lock to ignore all DVD-Rs and CD-Rs ever inserted into the XBOX. However if you use DVD-RWs and CD-RWs it works. My friend's got the Enigmah chip installed and we burned everything with CD-RWs and it works.....It reads it like the original. I tried a backup copy of my Dogma DVD to a DVD-RW.

It plays fine. Many hardcore ripping groups say that xbox locks out CD-R and DVD-Rs. So I guess they're right.

  12. Ok, I have a pioneer A04 and an UNMODDED Xbox. Every DVD-R movie I have ever put into has ALWAYS worked for me, no problems. 1:1 copies or re-authored ones both play fine. And the reall kicker is I'm using Princo's!
