SVCD OR A TS VCD?

i have downloaded several movies in the past burned them to disc with either nero or another burning program.when its a SVCD the movie is very clear not a dvd but certainly much better than a VCD. when i download a SVCD-TS which i was told is a telesync the movie is poor quality not very poor but more towards the lines of a very improved cam. anyone out there had experience in this matter? should i avoid a telesync movie no matter what is attached to it even dvd? because i thought just haveing the SVCD named to the file i was getting a great quality movie and it turned out it wasnt. or does it depend on who im getting from and its a gamble no matter what?

unless you rip a DVD yourself...you won't know what you're getting util you watch it
