  1. Could someone help me out as i am about to make a short film, i am going to buy a capture card, capture said film and then edit the film to fit around a couple of audio tracks i have in mind, whilst still keeping some of the original movie sound.

Also i would like to add Jackass style titles and the small name tags on some clips.

I have the option to get a nice video editing package eg Ulead, Adobe. Which should i go for and which can do most easily what i said above?

Many Many thanks to anyone who responds

    Thankyou

  2. I believe you can download trial versions of Adobe Premiere and also all of the Ulead editors, so that you can try them, and see what you think of them.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

I really like ULEAD VideoStudio 6 as a low cost, reasonably easy to use editing program. It does nice titles and is greatly improved over version 5.

If the name tags you are talking about have to be placed on or follow a characters motion, I would suggest Premiere. It is harder and more expensive than ULEAD, but once you learn it, the tools are really powerful.
