  1. When trying to cut a film in two i select the first half with direct stream video and audio, i then save the avi but the resulting avi only has audio for about half of the clip.
If while having a 1hr 45 min clip selected i save the wav, the resulting wav is only 45mins in length.

i hav 2 different versions of virtualdub, the one with the above problem is version 1.35d, using version 1.4.1 i hav a different problem where throughout the film the movie freezes for a couple of seconds and the audio overtakes it.

I have no idea how to solve either of these problems, i am desperately running out of space on my HD and so i need to split these films so i can put them on cd, i tried aviChop but the files it created cause mediaplayer to cause an error everytime i try and open them. I have plenty of system resources but the film still freezes, the only time it doesn't is using version 1.35d so if i could stop the audio from cutting out i could use that

PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE help me if i cant solve this problem im going to have to delete my films

Did you first scan for junk frames ?

Vdub > Video > scan video stream for errors

    If it finds any
    Video > direct stream copy
    Audio > Direct stream copy
    SAVE AVI

    Save movie2.avi

If the latest Vdub, fails on the scan use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" with c:\badframes.log
