  1. I was wondering if you pick the "force film" option in DVD2AVI when converting a DVD to VCD whether you should choose the 3:2 pulldown option in TMPEG.

I noticed that there are 2 of these. One of them is 3:2 pulldown for playback. The other one is in the encoding
section. Which one do I use?

Sefy's SxVCD NTSCFilm template doesn't use it and his SeVCD
NTSCFilm template has it greyed out. Is it because Mpeg1
doesn't use the 3:2 pulldown at all.

  2. use the 3:2 on playback for best results. this encodes to 23.976 fps but inserts flags to tell the player to do the pulldown for you. The other way does the pulldown first then encodes to 29.97 fps. More frames to encode = less bits per frame = less quality. So unless you have probs the 3:2 on playback is the way to go.

  3. oh and to answer the other Q. 23.976 fps is supported on VCD's but not on SVCD's. So you don't need to have 3:2 on VCD's.
