  1. Hi group,i'm new to this so i hope you can understand my problem.Ihave d/loaded a few films on avi format, some of them will play on windows mediaplayer no problem but others do not. When i double click the avi file the mediaplayer opens but i get a message saying format not supported. After i close mediaplayer my computer slows right down for a long time and the h/d light is on as if it's doing something.I also try to convert the avi to mpeg with tmpgenc but that wont work either.I have installed nimo codec pack 5 build 7.i have only recently started having this prob as most of the time i can play or convrt the avi's without a problem.I hope you can understand this and maybe give me some advice on how to rectify the problem.
    Many thanks,Ryan.

Nimo, recommends you un-install any codec's you already have before use. Also pay attention to what it installs. It would help if you can identify what AVI's wont play and what codecs are being used. Previously installed codec's like SMR(angel portion) should be un-installed. You may also need to re-install Media player after Nimo.

Also check you have Divx V5 www.divx.com
