The above toshiba player is the dvd drive for my sony vaio fx 301 (apologies to moderatos of this is on the wrong forum...please move if necessary
I bought it in the UK but unfortunately live in australia...the bloke in dixons (god bless 'im) said changing the region would be easy but 12 months down the line and i'm no closer. It remains locked in R1 whilst I'm in R4.
Any advice much appreciated![]()

what kinna firmware you got?
I have 1d13 firmware, their is a hacked version online that is RPC-1
It took me a while but i flashed it.
Flashing will change the firmware to the new RPC-1, then all you need to do is get DVD Genie and work with the dvd player software region code.

I must warn you that while flashing has great bennifits, one mistake will render your drive a giant paperweight.
