I am using TMPGEnc Plus to encode my VHS captured videos in my ADS Tech Instant DVD. I captured the videos in the CapWiz (that comes with ADS hw) and my SVCD videos are looking very bad in the images that have movement.
Anyone knows what the TMPGEnc best bitrates, framerates, and all configurations fot made SVCD images look better?

:P Thank you very much banjazzer.
I read the documentation and obtained a great SVCD.
I will post the TMPGEnc Configurations I used to help people to find the right choices.
Yours sincerely

I always use CQ (constant quality), set to between 70 & 80, this will allow me to fit an hours worth of pretty good video on one 80 min CDr. Others would disagree though

I won't disagree. I nearly always use CQ between 75 and 85, min bitrate=350, max bitrate= 2520. Damn, I've started disagreeing already. 8)

My CQ settings depend entirely on the length of the Divx file I'm converting. Anything less than say, around 55 mins i use CQ 80. I can get up to 70 mins on a disc by dropping to CQ 70, but I never go lower than that...
