  1. I just bought a brand new HP 100I and need to install it.

    Here's my issue:
My PC has a cd-r drive 16x, a DVD player 12x, and two Internal HDD 20 & 40 Gig. My tower has two extra external drive slots, but my MB only has 2 IDE slots. Is there an IDE cable that can hook up 3 or more devices (or mabey some sort of splitter?). If I do need to remove one of the Ext drives to use HP 100I, which should it be the CD-r or the DVD? Do I need the DVD to play discs and to back up discs with the DVD+rw. I'd like to use all 3 drives if possible.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Also, does anyone know if HP is extending the $99 DVD + rw trade up program past 6/30?

    pcdvd123,

I think you'd better add a PCI IDE RAID card to your PC, or sell either 16x CD-R or 12x DVD-ROM drive. Only up to two devices per connector. I often used more than ten IDE devices in one PC so I had to use on-board or off-board (PCI) IDE as well. Promise ATA/133 PCI cards cost under $30 now.

No, I don't think HP will offer any such program again.
