  1. In windows 98 if you go the Bt848 properties on the Registry, you can see the last values used by you in the Capturing process, like Sat,Contrast,Hue,Bright etc.
Also you can see other values like the "Preview". the default Value is "0", this means that is in OVERLAY MODE, if you change that value to "1" then is in PREVIEW MODE.

The problem is that i HAVE Windows XP now, and i can't find the line where this value is.

I need to switch to PREVIEW MODE.

Forget about suggesting Video Capturing programs, and don't want to switch to preview from a capturing program, i NEED to know that information.

There are some generic drivers on source forge these will now work with the bt848 chipsets http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

Use the Amcap program in the utils archive to set the output initaly to the source you want. Or you can use graph edit. Then fireup your capture program. The formats not set by default in the registry but as a property passed to the driver when you run your capture program.

  4. for some reason XP is not saving the changes, they always goes to default when i close my TV applications.

My capture program is UVS, and this program doesn't have an option to switch to preview mode, i have to do it manually before i enter video studio.

    you understand my problem ?

If your using the Amcap application before your TV application you can set you output format. If you save your settings in something like AVI-IO if your using this and load them back up the preview view or overlay mode should be selected.

With generic drivers which you can have many formats perameters are only pased at run time to the driver. No settings are saved and this depends on your capture program not your driver.

UVS I am not familar with this program who makes it? There are a lot of details missing. With anologue video its best to usea simple capture program like AVI_IO before using an all singing an dancing package if this is one.

Perhaps you should use something writen alot better like AVI_IO as this can select preivew overlay or non. Overlay mode will reduce your capture resolution. Preview mode will allow you to have a large capture resolution.

You ight be better with the BT878 / Fusion chip as the capture resolution higher and the chip operates faster
