  2. maybe the brand of cd you're using isn't working in your dvd player

    mine plays cdrw
tho a certain brand is working and another isn't
so i gotta stick to more expensive cdrw's in order to use them

    Your Player sound fine.

At least it says it will accept "Compliant VCD" that's all you can tell from that.

You don't mention any software so assume tmpg for encode in my comments.

Try to encode a (Choose VideoCD) mpeg1 VCD at 1120 or 1150 constant bitrate not constant quality set audio 224 stereo.

test a small clip on a CDRW with nero

    OR

If Nero tells you its not compliant and asks you to re-encode say yes the second time.

Make sure the file is not too big cause it might be after nero reencodes it.

Now write that to "VIDEOCD" with NERO

Check the disk on your PC make sure its has the right directory structure and that you can see the mpg. Play it on your PC.

Try it on you DVD player.

Now if that works your on your way.

Do other tests using the same input avi clip (5 min or so is ok) and process it by changing only 1 option like constant quality instead of constant bitrate) . Now try that file but don't let nero change it.

If it works keep trying other stuff.

  6. and the mpg im trying to burn is in bin and cue format would i have to make it a mpg?

  7. Ah, there we go.

    2 things -

1-If you re burning a bin/cue file in Nero, make sure to set Nero to burn in DAO mode, and not in TAO - that could account for the problem you mention

2- Your bin/cue file might not be a VCD compliant mpeg file. In that case, use a utility like vcdgear, extract the mpeg file, and re-encode it under TMPGEnc using the appropriate templates.
You can then burn the resulting files into a VCD using Nero or any software capable of burning VCD.
