  1. Hi! I have the first part of MIB2 which looks good quality on my pc in .avi format but when i convert it to mpeg1 and play it back on my TV the quality is pretty crappy. i'm mainly talking about the block noise that occurs. the length of it is 58mins & i've tried many settings on tmpgenc and i can't seem to get it right! why do they look good on pc and then crap on tv? can anyone tell me wot settings they think would be best to encode it to mpgeg1 and so it fits on 1 80min cd! thanx
if anymore info is needed just ask!

  2. Scroll down to the TMPGE templates here:
    http://www.vcdhelp.com/tools.htm
Then using a Cd/RW experiment with different settings .
One mans pefect quality could be another mans crappy !
I personally use Kwag and Sefy's Templates.

  3. hey jayz thats a very good question
and i have the perfect answer for you
first what you need is sefy's sevcd templates
you can find them under tools section on this site
load up the sevcd ntsc enhanced template and use these two filters in tmpgenc
use the simple color filter and use only the contrast
now depending on the quality of the movie you move the slider more to the right
but i usually move it to the right 5-10 on the contrast
    (but for mib2 use 5)
and the next filter to use is the sharpen filter again the worse the quality the more the sliders
do not check that option that it ask for either
move both sliders to the right also
(for mib2 use about to 20)
for movies i usually use 15-50
now these filters make a huge difference in the quality
    its really amazing
makes any movie look much much better plus by using sefy's sevcd template you can fit up to 100mins on one cd

  5. wait..
"i'm mainly talking about the block noise " you said,
that doesn't come from encoding, if orig is good (assume no block), no matter what you do all you'll get is crap but "no block".

Try this, whatever your cd-rw max speed is, bumb the burn speed down to half. Or start at 8x, then keep bumb it up a notch at a time. My lite-on 32x can only do 16x, SyberDrive 36x can only 8x. Have no idea why, but half a speed or 8x almost guaranteed.
