whats the best way to cut a few frames off a mpg movie and join it with another mpg movie? I know you can use TMPG ENC, but how do you do it with that?

Open TMPGEnc. Choose >> File >> MPEG Tools and click on the cut/merge tab. Choose your feed (i.e. VCD,SVCD etc.) from the pull down menu, Add your mpeg streams, Choose your output file name. To mark where to start cutting, double click the mpeg which will bring up a windows where you can play and mark your "start cutting" and stop cutting" markers. After that its best to press "correct" and hit start - that simple.

For ASF use ASFCut, for AVI use AVIChop - both links you can find in the Tools section of this website.

Just the same - everything that is either within the markers, or if you're not using markers everything you include is merged into one file.
