I just converted to Linux from an OS that will remain nameless. Everything works fine except my ESS 1988 sound card. I need to find the drivers for it. Im rather new to this and dont know a great deal about Linux Drivers. Also, are there any good software site around? Any help is appreciated.

Try http://www.alsa-project.org/ for your sound card.
Try http://sourceforge.net and http://freshmeat.net for software. Sourceforge is home to a huge collection of open source software, and if you can't find what you want there, try www.google.com/linux.
