Hi,
i tried ripping some dvd's to divx but after it is done when i play back the avi file the video seems quite choppy as if its dropping a few frames to keep up or something, its not very bad and happens maybe once or twice every minute but very annoying, on a previous computer i made a succesful divx but i can get this to work, its the new codec, 2 pass, ive checked the options and its not changing the framerate or anything, the DVD's are pal.
The process is a very good one using smartripper, DVD2AVI, VFAPI Converter, CDex, Dvtool, VirtualDub
my pc is AMD 1.2
640 mb RAM
32 Mb Geforce 2 GTS Nvidia
SB Audigy
thanks for any advice

it might be worth mentioning, previously i used the 4.11 codec which was fine i am now using the new DivX 5.0.1 but not the pro version, didnt want to bother with the gain rubbish. would the pro version make the encoding better and perhaps solve the choppy/jumpy video

PLEASE ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.
Or maybe an alternative method which do you prefer to choose?
