  1. I downloaded a .bin and burned it, it was a vcd with chapters and menus. The problem is that towards the end the audio and video stopped synching up. Can I convert the vcd .dat file to MPG or AVI, (don't know which is better) and try to fix it using Tmpgenc or something of that nature? If I can, is there an easy way to turn it back into that .dat file so the spiffy menu's still work?
    Thanks!

  2. Look to the left. "How to - convert". The info is there.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

aww Just let him know. um well since you burned a .bin file only then its not an actual vcd unless it also came with a .cue file you burned also in the same cd. and to extract i think you can use vcd gear to extract the avseq1.dat which is the mpg or use a program called isobuster.exe i have it thats what i use to extract the mpgs from a vcd. Good Luck!

  4. Yep, I did find the link and am using the wonderful vcdgear proggie, now I have to figure out why when the large .dat is converted into a .mpg it splits it into pieces and I can only 'run' the first piece. I want to try to re-sync the video/audio you know!

And yes, it came with a .cue file (that was pointing to the wrong folder and I had to fix it)

I guess if this was easy, we wouldn't need the noob guides!

Try just copying the .dat file from the VCD onto your HD and then renaming it with a .mpg extension.

    Works for me.
