    I would like to take images from video captured in MPEG1 VCD format. My goal is to use them in creating menu backgrounds, CD labels and jewel case inserts for my VCDs. I am currently using Ulead VideoStudio 5 for capture and editing, Ulead DVD MovieFactory for authoring, and Adobe Photoshop 6 for image editing. This has got to be possible! Suggestions anyone? Thanks!

  2. You can open MPEG-1 files in VirtualDub, and scroll to the frame you like, then snap a screenshot from there (I think that's near the bottom of the 2nd or 3rd pulldown menu). I don't have VDub installed, or I would be more exact.
    As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

    o.k.
    Now let's add to that. What do you do if you want text on the chapter or menu?

  4. load mpeg into vdub

    go to whichever frame you want to capture
    then press CTRL 1
    to capture the source frame
    then open up photoshop
    CTRL N for new file
    then Edit -> Paste

    and it'll paste it into that new file

    then work on it from there
