    Hi all

    well my problem is this...
    i have a ALBA DVD 114 and when i try to play svcd's i get an excellent picture but no sound is there anything i can do to correct this,,

    Would there be anything "non-standard" about these SVCDs? Odd audio bitrate, codec, etc?

    havent got a clue but it plays vcd's fine but not the damn svcd's ive tried all the bitrate settings on the dvd player with no joy, i just wondered if anyone else has had the same problems and found an answer

    They only play the sound on a geniune original un pirated SVCD. Alba took this step to stop piracy on there players as SVCD is the most commen format for it apperently.
