  1. I am capturing DV from a Sony TRV110E Digital8 camera with firewire. The topmost 1-3 lines of the video are always flickering. I tried it with different capture programs, and with two different PCs. The strangest thing is, that this flickering is always visible in the capture-preview window, even if the camera is not playing back, it is only connected and in player mode, but with the tape stopped. In this setup I see the black preview window, but with 1-3 yellowish flickering lines at the top.
    Is this normal?

    Thanx

  2. What type of footage are you transferring to your PC, shots from your camcorder? I've seen those thingies when I copied an analog source to a DV tape (I don't have pass-through capability). I believe that's normal.

Try sending the video back to tape, connect your camcorder to TV and watch it. It'll probably be clipped anyway, so don't worry about it.

  3. Yes, I am transferring shots from the camcorder. So it is pure digital data, that's, why I'm confused. If I create a DVD from this video, on the TV screen the flickering is cropped, but on a PC with DVD player software the flickering is there (even in fullscreen mode).
