hey guys. i have a problem with cce. when i try to encode an avi file with it i get this error all the time:
ctsp has caused an error in CCTSP.EXE
    ctsp will now close.
Does anyone know how i can fix this problem?

  2. go to http://www.doom9.net and read through their DVD2SVCD official Q & A (it has information pertinent to CCE). Make sure you've downloaded and installed the checksum patch they have available there--that can cause problems. Also, different filters/settings in your avs script (or whatever you might use) can cause problems I've found. Good luck!

Check the log. Did CCE really finish?

It sounds like your encoding in multipass vbr and it crashed after one of the passes finished. Everytime it starts a new pass it completely starts over the encode, so if it crashed before starting the next pass the file will be 0 bytes.

i think it's a crc problem as i have found cce will only encode without the audio. does anyone know where i can find a crc patch for version 2.50 that will work, as the one i have tried said it has patched the file, only to leave a bak file and still not work.

This is no crc error as cce reports then something like "checksum error, crc is different from previous pass" or similar.

For old Athlon and Duron processors donīt select audio in cce 2.50 sp (bug because of internal sse routines using audio).
Thatīs no problem with Athlon XP (as it supports SSE).

Also be sure that your processor meets the high cce specs
    Xeon processor
    Pentium 4 processor
    Pentium III processor
    Celeron processor (533AMHz or greater)
Mobile Celeron processor (400A/450/500MHz or greater)

    AMD Athlon MP processor
    AMD Athlon XP processor
    Mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor
    AMD Athlon processor
    AMD Duron processor
So no AMD K6/III or old Celeron f.e.
Also you should have 256 MB RAM or more (on some systems it is working with 128 MB RAM but not all).

Do you load a real avi or a pseudo avi?

Use file names and path conforming to 8.3 name conventions.

More tips if you give more detailed scenario what you are doing (source file, codec, frameserver, maybe avs file ...)

well i have a duron 733 with 64mb of ram could that be it? i tried cce 2.62 trial and i got different errors like "0 bytes expecting 8 bytes" and "invalid file parameters(87)". the avi's i'm using are captured files. i can get every avi to work with at least one of the copies of cce i have, but it's very annoying having to switch between versions especially as 2.50 won't encode audio for me!

    @ boss

I wrote it already, your RAM (64 MB) is too low. See also the specs on cce official website.
Upgrade to 256 MB and everything will be ok.

The '0 bytes while expecting 8 bytes' comes from capturing to avi 2.0 format. CCE 2.62 needs avi 1.0 (or old avi in virtual dub).

    Resave it with virtual dub.

an update: i finally got some more ram (256mb) so i'm now up to 320mb.
i opened cce again and tried to encode an avi to dvd compliant mpeg. instead of taking 30 hours like it did before, i took only slighly more than real-time!
but i still have problems the avi had a resoultion of 352x288, so the dvd mpeg had the video running only in a box in the centre of the screen! how do i make it fill up the whole screen?
and also, cce says that "vcd is unselectable!" it also says the same for svcd. how do i unlock these options so i can use them?

Sounds like you checked off 'DVD Compliant', which causes CCE to letterbox your video to 720x480. I made the same mistake once working with an SVCD MPEG. I ended up with a very skinny movie with big black borders on the sides to fill the space

Uncheck everything in the VIDEO options regarding compliance, or resolution, and try again.
