  2. I'm definitely no pro, but the way I fixed mine is when i record, I put the audio plug that goes from the TV Card to the Sound Card into the Mic plug. It's a pain to do every time, but it works. If there is a better way, I'd love to know.

you need to take the audio out and a line in or mic in (both should be in the back) and connect those two.

    ok.
your capture card should have a audio out port (i think)

you need to connect that audio out to either a line or mic in port of your sound card. (in the back of your computer)

then the audio will feed out of you capture card and into you sound card. you sound card will play it through your speakers, headphones, whatever (if theyre connected). you should be able to hear audio then, if you cant then youll have to check your software.

is that easier to understand? or did i make it worse?

Do you get sound when you play avi, mpg, wav or mp3 files from other sources than your captures? If yes then we know your speakers are hooked-up ok.

Then check your connections. I dont have that card but lets assume a cable input, composite video in, audio line-in, audio line-out and (possibly a svideo input). The only ones of concern here are to make sure that if your using an external source for input lets say a vcr (composite video in and audio line-in) make sure that the RCA jacks and/or mini plug are connected to the proper video and audio inputs. The audio signal from your VCR should be heard through your speakers clearly even before you start the capture. Next check that the audio line_out from your Capture card is connected to the line-In of your sound card. Next make sure that the line_in "record" (not the play)option is selected (on win98 thats the speaker icon). When you play the file back make sure that the WAVE play option is not muted and that the volume for the wave is up.

If you still have problems try another capture app and report your results in greater detail.
